DPD Local have sent us the following :- We are no longer asking customers to sign our handheld units and instead our drivers will sign it on their behalf. We will record the consignees name and a 'Delivered on Authority' message in the signature section of the unit. With this new process you will still get your full track and trace functionality, giving you complete visibility of all your parcels. This now forms our proof of delivery process for all deliveries until further notice.
So far as over the counter sales are concerned, bicycle shops are allowed to remain open, for customers to visit.
Clearly an important aspect, to restricting the further spread of the virus, is minimising the number of people with whom we come into contact. To that end, if customers wish to order online, for collection from shop, we can place their parcel outside the shop upon arrival (Just phone when you arrive). We are observing strict hygiene here at cyclebasket and the counter etc is regularly treated with a solution of bleach.
For those wishing to enter the shop, in order to comply with government guidelines, retail and public premises, which remain open, must:
• Ensure a distance of two metres between customers and shop assistants; and
• Let people enter the shop only in small groups, to ensure that spaces are not crowded.
• Queue control is required outside shops and other essential premises that remain open.
To this end, when you arrive, if you see customers inside, being served, please start a suitably spaced queue outside the gate and pass this on to anyone else, who arrives whilst you are waiting.
PLEASE NOTE THAT CUSTOMERS ARE NOW REQUIRED TO WEAR FACE MASKS BEFORE THEY ENTER THE SHOP. A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY IS UNDERGOING MEDICAL TREATMENT AND WHILST I HAVE BEEN ADVISED THAT THE SHOP CAN STAY OPEN, I HAVE BEEN ADVISED TO TAKE EXTRA CARE, TO PROTECT THEM FROM COVID 19. WEARING A MASK REDUCES THE RISK OF THE WEARER PASSING ON COVID 19, SO I AM TOLD, BY A MULTIPLE OF SEVEN.
Whilst we always expect that items, brought in for work, are reasonably clean, under the present circumstances, we must now insist that everything now brought in, for work to be carried out on it, is cleaned with a bike cleaning product, before being brought in.
